    Dimensional analysis is a powerful way of working with all measureable data (what Kimball calls "additive" data). Much of this data is the primary data that is being collected.

    For example, all financial data is derived from bookkeeping entries that are additive. The information that accountants put into financial statements is really a crude form of dimensional analysis upon the most primary data in our economy.
