Release 9.3 also supports Google OneBox for Enterprise, a feature of the Google Search Appliance. Unlike solutions from other BI vendors, Release 9.3 provides customers with access not only to BI-related dashboards, reports, and metrics, but also to information associated with planning and financial management processes. Hyperion System 9 support for this feature was announced last month.
I didn't think that this was, as Agent Smith might have intoned, inevitable. In fact, I had every reason to believe that HYSL was going to go its own way and try to reinvent the axle, and think they would be rolling. Wiser heads have evidently prevailed. It's certainly easier to master the Google API than build your own search algorithms. Bravo to Hyperion for making the smart choice. Now we'll have only to endure the spin that sales guys will use to differentiate. But soon enough, I'll have a straight answer - I gotta get that training.
